ridiculous
This is insane. When the office closes, the spam takes over. There has to be a better way to stop it. By the time the office opens in the morning, we are flooded with spam. Maybe its not serious to some, but I see it as a invasion to the forums. People have nothing else better to do than to fill the forum up with garbage ads. There is a better way to stop it, but that wont be done. I'm just tired of it. This never happened until Wowstead was taken over. But, I see no end in sight. For those who do spam us, Would you please get a life and leave us alone. We don't want or need you. I am sure I am not the only one who feels like this. If anything, just turn the forum post off after business hours. Make them unreadable until approved when the guild office opens.
Ok, that's all I guess.

I feel the same ... it doesn't greatly impact on me, but it is annoying.
I have, in the past, sent an email to support reporting specific spam attacks, but it is a long-winded way of doing things, which is why i put a suggestion in a while back to have a "report port" button actually within the forums/posts themselves (http://guildlaunch.uservoice.com/forums/106449-guild-launch-feature-requests/suggestions/4255218-report-post-like-post-buttons) ... but yes, there must be some sort of automatic way to filter them out before they even hit the forums?
There is and we've implemented it. :) Right now we're down to a couple posts a day instead of hundreds. Unfortunately, spammers are one of the quirks of having a forum-based system, and of being as big as we are. They were coming here before the WowStead migration, and they will most likely continue to try and sneak past our defenses.
I can definitely understand your frustration with them, but we are not going to prevent new accounts from being able to post while I'm not in office. That would potentially limit new real customers from posting as well - a few posts about kitchens are better, in my mind, than having a new user with an issue coming along and not being able to ask for help.

True, and very understandable. Is it helpful if they get reported, or is it easy enough for your guys to spot them?
It can be helpful - I check on the site at night and on weekends to make sure nothing's on fire, but I'm in my email more often than on the forums when I'm out of office. :)
